LILY KATE~

"Your Kinda small, your such a doll, I'm glad your mine!"
Tonight I planned on soaking in the tub after a long day of garage selling, shoe shopping, laundry folding, dish washing, and walk taking. So I turned the water on and got ready to soak for a while, when a little brother knocks on the door and says he has to go before bed. So trying to be understanding, I let him in. After he was gone, and I am in the tub, soaking in some semi-hot water (its bound to be a little nippy after seven people have taken baths.) I stare at my "Winter Toenails", as mamma would call them... you know, when they are faded and chipped up, and look more like a grubby orange, then a hot pink... guess the sand from the beach a few months before, didn't help it any = ). So my long soak in the hot water tub, turned into a 5 min. scrub, in a cold tub. Oh well, it was a nice thought to think upon...

-----------------------------------------

I guess I better go now, I need to put away a mountain of cloths, brush my teeth, get cloths ready for church tomorrow, and do that last min. Sat. night things... so I better sign off. Sorry for rambling on like this... I'll spare you next time! ; )

Celebration. before heading off to bed.

Here are a few pictures of his day and celebration of cake and icecream, before heading to bed! He was so excited when he opened his present and found a play pistol. Now he fits in just fine with his brothers!

Proud to say he is three...

My little bubby is growing up! Today he turns the big three. He thinks he is such a big shot... who wouldn't be that when you can walk around the grocery store and pick out a balloon and ice cream... I mean really, you're practically grown ; ) at least that is what he thinks... He is such a sweetie. Last night he was so excited that he wouldn't go to sleep. So I had the vision in my mind of him laying down in my little single sized bed, and us try to go to sleep. As you can imagine my vision crashed as soon as the light clicked off. He doesn't want to go to sleep, he wants to talk, and talk, and talk some more... they only problem is that Abigail and I are trying to go to sleep and Abigail keeps telling me to take him out, cause with him in here we are aren't going to get any sleep... He kept telling me that he didn't fit in the bed, and that I needed to scoot over. So as soon as I closed my eyes and stopped talking to him, he said that he was going out, and there was no stopping him... I didn't argue with him, I needed some sleep... He had quite a day... but he was kinda pillish... we gave him grace, cause this day only happens once, and we have to make the most of it.
I love you Levi, you will always be my favorite little blue eyed, blond hair boy, ever.

Love your sister,
Lydia~

Beautiful little girl...

"Beautiful little girl, discovering all the world. I wonder what she'll be, will she take after her daddy or me. Patiently hold her hand, and help her understand. Teach her what she must learn, and guide her until shes ready to turn, into the woman loves her maker, and knows what she living for, and so nothing can harm or take her from you."
-Amy Grant's song "Beautiful little Girl"...

How do you like...

my new look. Drop me a comment to tell me what you think!

Testing 1,2,3 testing...

Hallelujiah! Praise the Lord! There you have it! My first photo on this new computer! I'm happy! = )
finished a book, began a book.
Got ready for the day, finished getting ready for the day.
Ate breakfast, finished breakfast.
Whent to church, came back from church.
Read, finished reading.
Ate lunch, finished lunch.
Read while eating, finished reading.
Did blog and e-mail check, finished blog and e-mail check.

Off to read more bloggerings, then gone to read about simplicity or Amish life.... big choice, ha! Amish are simple, maybe I should just read about the Amish, they are bound to teach me a bit about simplicity...

Quotes...

"Life brings sorrows and joys alike. It is what a man does with them- not what they do to him- that is the true test of his mettle."
-Theodore Roosevelt

"I have long learned the little value which is to be placed on popularity, acquired by any other way than virtue."
-Patrick Henry

"A flower that stops short of its flowering misses its purpose. We were created for more than our own spiritual development; reproduction, not mere development, is the goal of matured being- reproduction in the lives of others."
-Parable of the Cross

"Take the very hardest thing in your life- the place of difficulty, outward or inward, and expect God to triumph gloriously in that very spot. Just there He can bring your soul into blossom."
-Parable of the Cross

"When life's flight is over, and we unload our cargo at the other end, the fellow who got rid of unnecessary weight will have the most valuable cargo to present to the Lord. Not only that. There's another secret. Two airplanes may look alike, but one may be able to lift twice the load into the air. The difference is the horsepower of the engine. Bible reading is the power of the Christian life. Dead weight doesn't do you any good and a big plane with little horsepower doesn't go anywhere."
-Nate Saint

cold weather is rolling in... finally!

I love waking up in the morning to light streaming in through the frosted windows, and I always love snugging deep down in my sheets and comforter. I have mixed feelings when my feet hit the cold wood floors, I look forward to seeing what the day will bring, but also dread leaving my warm bed! School is going well, and I am enjoying it for the most part. Our pecan trees are producing buckets of pecans. I am so excited to have a stocked freezer of them for all the holiday baking ahead of us! I guess I will go join the boys and watch a Christmas movie, or maybe I will curl up with a good book. Hmmmmmmmmmm....

Love is Patient, Love is Kind...

Having Three younger brothers is very trying at times, I try to look upon them with love, I try to speak to them with Love. Sometimes I have to clamp my mouth closed from saying something that would not show love. It is always easy. Right this minute I am trying to speak kindly to my brother (he is being extremely difficult), but he is singing the Song "Love Never Fails You". The words go something like "Love does not boast, Love is not proud, Love after all matters the most, Love is the river that flows through, Love never fails You". I have to remember songs, verses, and other things to remind me to love at all times, even when your brother walks by and slaps you on the backside, It's not the end of the world! So the next time you stop to speak rudely or unkind, think to yourself "Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails". I want people to see the love of Christ through me, when I am speaking to my family in public. Mama took the boys, Lily Kate, and I to Hobby Lobby, to look at Christmas decorations, and Levi was having some attitude trouble. I tried to hold my tongue and speak with a kind tone of voice. It didn't effect the way he responeded to me, but I saw a lady watching me talk to him and she kept smiling. I hope she saw the light of Jesus shining through me. When you come to speak unkindly ask yourself if people that don't know you are going to see the Love of Christ shining through you. I hope they see it through me.

"Through thick and thin, keep your hearts at attention, in adoration before Christ, your Master. Be ready to speak up and tell anyone who asks why you are living the way you are."
-Peter the apostle

"Don't let evil get the best of you, but conquer evil by doing good".
- Paul the Apostle

You've got to enjoy then while their little...

Tonight as I got ready to put Lily Kate down for bed, she kept smiling at me and I would just smooch her little fat cheek as I turned the lights off and fixed her blankets. She is at such an adorable stage. She is discovering new things (this week my mom found her one morning laying on her back sucking her thumb in her bed!! She has recently learned how to role over, and suck her thumb!) She is such a joy! Mama said that she will wake her up in the morning by sucking so hard on her thumb that it makes a, well, you know a sucking smoochy sound. = ) It is so cute. But you have to enjoy them, I can remeber Levi being a little baby toddling around... and now he is out there with the boys, climbing trees, and doing whatever they do. They just grow up to fast!
